Information about adoption
On this page you will find more information about adopting a grave at the CWGC Venray War Cemetery.
Adopting a grave is not without obligation. The adopter is expected to visit the adopted grave (at least once a year) and place a flower. Your presence during the commemorations is also greatly appreciated. The CWGC Venray War Cemetery Adoption Graves Foundation also expects its adopters to actively make an effort to find out more about the fallen soldier. In particular, this includes his photo, story and contact with any surviving family members. The adopters can count on the help of the research team of the CWGC Venray War Cemetery Adoption Graves Foundation. The intention is that the adopter shares the results of his search with the CWGC Venray War Cemetery Adoption Graves Foundation. The Foundation will then ensure that the photo is printed on a metal plate that is placed in front of the grave in question on special occasions. The other information will be included in the database of the CWGC Venray War Cemetery Adoption Graves Foundation.
By accepting the adoption, the adopter undertakes the obligation to make an effort for the above.
Their stories are forever written in the stars above and the earth below
